1. Overview

SwimTo1K ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the SwimTo1K mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").


Please read this policy carefully. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

When you create an account and set up your swim profile, we collect:


  • • Swim skill level — beginner, intermediate, or advanced
  • • Swimming goals — target distance, speed, or stroke improvement
  • • Swim gear — equipment you own (e.g., fins, pull buoy, paddles)
  • • Pool preferences — pool length (e.g., 25m, 50m)
  • • Preferred strokes — freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly

    • Account Information

    When you sign in via Apple Sign In, we receive a unique identifier and, if you choose, your name and email address. We do not receive your Apple ID password.

    Workout & Activity Data

    When you use the app, we collect data about your swim workouts, including sets completed, laps, distance, and rest intervals. If you sync with Apple Watch, workout metrics (heart rate, active calories, duration) are recorded via HealthKit.

    Subscription & Payment Data

    Subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card details. We receive confirmation of your subscription status (active, expired, trial) from Apple.

    Usage Data

    We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Service, including device type, operating system version, app version, and crash reports. This data is used solely for debugging and improving the Service.

    3. How We Use Your Information

    We use the information we collect to:


  • • Generate personalised workout plans — your skill level, goals, gear, and preferences are processed by our AI to produce a custom swim training schedule tailored to you.
  • • Sync workouts to Apple Watch — your planned workouts are delivered to your paired Apple Watch via WatchConnectivity and HealthKit.
  • • Track your progress — we store your completed workout history so you can review improvement over time.
  • • Manage your subscription — we verify your subscription status to grant or restrict access to premium features.
  • • Improve the Service — anonymised, aggregated usage patterns help us improve plan quality and app stability.
  • • Communicate with you — we may send important service notifications (e.g., plan updates, subscription changes). We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

    • 4. AI-Powered Plan Generation

    SwimTo1K uses Google's Generative AI (Gemini) to generate your personalised workout plans. When a plan is generated, your swim profile data (skill level, goal, gear, pool preference, preferred strokes) is sent to Google's AI API.


    This data is used solely to generate your plan and is subject to Google's API data usage policies. We do not send your name, email, Apple ID, or payment information to the AI service. Google does not use API inputs to train their models by default — for details, refer to Google's Generative AI Terms of Service.

    5. Apple HealthKit

    SwimTo1K may request access to Apple HealthKit to read and write swim workout data, active energy, and heart rate. HealthKit data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account under Apple's privacy controls.


    We do not share HealthKit data with third parties, use it for advertising, or store it on our servers beyond what is necessary to display your workout history within the app. You can revoke HealthKit access at any time via iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health.

    6. Data Sharing & Disclosure

    We do not sell your personal data. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:


  • • Service providers — We use Google's Generative AI API for plan generation (see Section 4). These providers are contractually bound to process data only as directed by us.
  • • Apple — Subscription management and HealthKit integration are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • • Legal requirements — We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
  • • Business transfers — In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

    • 7. Data Retention

    We retain your account and swim profile data for as long as your account is active. Workout history is retained to support your long-term progress tracking.


    If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Anonymised, aggregated statistics derived from your data may be retained indefinitely.

    8. Your Rights

    Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:


  • • Access — Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • • Correction — Update inaccurate or incomplete data via your in-app swim profile.
  • • Deletion — Request erasure of your personal data (see Section 7).
  • • Portability — Request your data in a machine-readable format.
  • • Opt-out of communications — Unsubscribe from non-essential communications at any time.

    9. Children's Privacy

    The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at swimto1k@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

    10. Data Security

    We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted transmission (TLS) and secure storage. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your device software up to date.

    11. Changes to This Policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you via the app or email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
